They call it the Proving Grounds. And with good reason.

This little known trail on the south end of town is perhaps the most challenging trail in the Moab area. While at Easter Jeep Safari 2000, a few of the 4x4wire staff were fortunate enough to get a look at this trail, we even brought back some pictures to prove it. With obstacles like "The Bowling Alley" and "The Slot", this is one trail that is outright nasty. John Nutter had this to say about the Proving Grounds... "So John, you going to try it?" John: "Not in my Jeep!".

While not an official trail, this trail is known only to a handful or so hardcore wheelers. If you want a totally hard core trail and have a stout winch, you may want to check out the Proving Grounds next time your in Moab. then again.... maybe not!  In the mean time, check out some of the nasty obstacles on the Proving Grounds.
