---Strawberry/West Lakes OHV trail------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------

From the town of Shaver Lake, take highway 168 north about 13 miles to the Red Mountain Trailhead turnoff (road 8S10). Turn right, follow the signs for 3 miles to the intersection of Road 8S42; bear left, and drive 2.5 miles to the trailhead. Watch your odometer -- a couple of small ponds are often confused for the lakes. Keep going. West Lake is 1 mile past the trailhead, and Strawberry is 2.5 miles beyond the trailhead.

There are several dispersed campsites at West Lake. Camping sites are limited at Strawberry, so finding a site just before the lake is advised. Camps must be more than 100 feet from water or meadows. Campfire permits are required.
