About Me
Me. Under a Toyota...Where else?!?

I was born and raised in the South Bay area of Southern California. I still reside in the beach cities. While this is by no means a 4Wheeling Mecca, we're still relatively close to decent trails located here in So. Cal.

For the past ten years, I have been an automotive technician of some sorts. Currently I am certified in many ASE specialties as well as Toyota-specific technology. Toyotas have always been my specialty since I started in the automotive repair field. At the moment, I work at an independent emission test laboratory where we perfom California Air Resources Board (C.A.R.B.) testing on aftermarket performance parts. It's a fun job and let's me see and play with all of the latest toys available for cars and trucks.

I've been wheeling since before I actually owned a 4WD truck. As a kid, I used to ride along with a neighbor who owned a thrashed 1981 Toyota 4x4 truck. Those experiences are what got me hooked on this hobby. I like the challange of tough trails and the ability to use 4WD to get to those out of the way camping spots not acessible to your average 26' Winnebago (which I also have TOO MUCH experience with :-)

Off-Road Experience & My Vehicle
My 1986 pick-up at Yellowjacket Canyon

I've had my 1986 Toyota 4WD truck since new. From the time I bought it, I've wheeled it several places. Even completely stock, it was a formidible rig. It's gone through several incarnations since then, and continues to be built up in various stages.

As I mentioned before, we have access to several good wheeling areas right here in Southern California. I've wheeled at Big Bear, Anza-Borrego, Orocopia Mountians, Frazier Park, Death Valley, Red Rock/Last Chance Canyon, Eastern Sierra, Mammoth Lakes area, Santiago Canyon (now defunct, R.I.P. :-(, and the Sierra Foothills as well.

Computer Experience

My computer experience is pretty limited. What I have learned has been through the use of PCs at work and casual use at home. In 1998, I began to work for Off-Road.Com as a Toyota Section Editor. Through the help of friends and fellow staffers, I've learned quite a bit about HTML and web page publishing.

Since coming over early on at 4x4Wire, I have learned even more about web publishing. Hopefully, I can use these skills and this venue to share my technical experience with other Toyota owners and wheelers alike. Check out my webpage at:http://staff.4x4wire.com/toytech/
