Currently, my wife Susana and I live in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. I work in Telecommunications, on voice switches and call center platforms, for a large company in suburban Cleveland.
Aside from the truck and wheeling, my hobbies include our dog Rex, working on the PC and the web, some fishing, visiting museums with Susana, music, trying new recipes at home and while dining out, and sports.
My first off-road experiences came courtesy of Uncle Sam - specifically, the 107th Armored Cavalry, Ohio Army National Guard. So I first went tracking as opposed to wheeling in the M48- and M60- series main battle tanks.
I am a member of the Toyota Land Cruiser Association, the Mid-Ohio Land Cruiser club, and Loose Cannons 4WD. The 4-wheeling I do is centered around trailriding, from scenic Eastern mountain trails to the diverse and difficult trails in this area.

I purchased my 1994 Toyota SR5 V6 Extracab while I lived in Richmond, Virginia. I had an interest in Toyotas for several years prior to buying this truck, primarily based on their reliability and what I then knew of their offroad capabilities.
The previous owner of my truck set it up for boulevard cruising, including a 2" body lift and numerous accessories. Just about everything bolt-on was removed and sold, except for the body lift, which to this day allows me to clear 33's with no suspension lift. Underneath the accessories, I had a well-maintained and capable truck to start with, and over the years I have tried to remain true to those principles: increase the capability while maintaining the reliability. O, and keep it a comfortable daily driver and road-trip vehicle as well.
And I think that's why I'm here with 4x4Wire. My Toyota is still a pretty basic truck as far as buildups go -- I have front and rear traction devices, a solid suspension with enough clearance for 33" MT's, and numerous other mods. I will document the ongoing upgrades to the truck, upgrades that are of help offroad and which many people will go through as they get into 4-wheeling. Our other staff members and many readers have built some incredible rigs, but I believe there's a place for the milder projects that a large percentage of Toyota owners go through as they become more immersed in this obsessive hobby. I am also particular about maintenance and the benefits of doing it regularly, so I will also contribute what I can to this often-neglected part of 4WD ownership.
So, I look forward to the ride here at 4x4Wire. I'm excited about learning and exploring, and I hope to share those experiences with all of you!
