Cab Spacer

Difference between lifted cab and not yet lifted bed

Bed Spacer

A lot of work for so few parts

I purchased my 2" lift kit from Performance Accessories through JC Whitney for about $100. It took me about 12hrs from start to finish to complete. No special tools are needed other than the fact that some things are recommended to be welded but I just used a cold weld like "JB WELD". The kit comes with cab and bed spacers, front bumper bracket, radiator bracket,
steering column extension, column shifter extension, fuel filler hose extension, and all the hardware needed. You need to remove the seats and carpet for access to the cab bolts. Remove the front and rear bumpers, the battery, the steering column, the shifter rod, and other small misc. Spray all the bolts the night before with rust penetrant. I used a floor jack with 2 2x4s on it to lift one side at a time. First the cab then the bed. The most difficult part of the project is to keep the head of the cab bolt from rotating while your trying to tighten it from underneath. You'll want to do the shifter rod first so that the JB WELD is dried by the time you finish. I
also used JB WELD on the bed spacers. I am glad I only used a 2" lift and not a 3" because the 2" already puts a lot of stress on a lot of hoses like your AC lines. The 2" lift allowed enough clearance for my 33" Bridgestone A/T on 15x8.5 wheels. I did remove the front mud flaps and raise the torsion bars ( 14.5" between rim and fender ). I do believe this is something everyone can do if they take there time! Like an entire weekend.
