The Rubicon Express Extreme Duty 4.5" Lift kit for Jeep Wrangler YJs is one of the most complete lift kits on the market for the person who is serious about using their Jeep on the trail and not just as a boulevard cruiser.
Springs
This kit includes some of the best production springs we have had the opportunity to use. The 5 & 6 leaf packs provide a great ride on the street and substantial flex on the trail. Each of the springs feature a full military wrap on one end and a half military wrap on the other. Each leaf has a tapered end with a Teflon pad to reduce friction between the leaves. The spring clamps are constructed to allow a bit of extra spring spread during droop and also contribute to less friction in the spring pack. The center pin is larger in diameter than many other, which reduces the chance of breakage on the trail (something that has happened twice to me on the trail with previous springs). The springs are also available separately from the kit for people who just wish to upgrade their current setup.
Other Components
As I mentioned, this is one of the most complete kits that I have seen on the market for real trail jeeps. It includes all of the components that you need to provide the kind of flex you need in a rock crawling Jeep including:
This kit may look more expensive than some other budget kits available, but when you consider that it has many components that you would have to add on afterwards to many other lift kits, it starts looking a lot more more reasonable -- particularly when you take into account its outstanding performance on the street and on the trail. The same basic kit is also available in a 2.5" lift for people looking for an all inclusive kit, but with less lift.
