Jeeping

Developing Jeep web pages is one facet of Jeeping that I enjoy, but I also like working on my Jeeps and four wheeling. I am a member of two 4x4 clubs, Big Horn 4x4 and Colorado Rock Hoppers, both out of Colorado Springs. I am also a member of the Colorado Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs and the United Four Wheel Drive Association.

I currently own a '45 CJ-2A, aka Project Pieces and Parts, which is my main trail vehicle. It has 35x15.5 Super Swamper TSL/SXs running on Dana 44s stuffed with 5.89 gears on Detroit Soft Lockers. The stock Spicer 18 splits power from a Turbo 350 mated to a Buick 231 V6.

My daily driver is a '75 CJ-6 with 33x12.5 BFG MTs on stock axles with open diffs. This Jeep has my AMC 258 I6, Ford T-18, and Dana 300 combination from my '81 CJ-7. The CJ-7 was retired due to severe trail damage.

I purchased my first CJ in 1988, it was a rust bucket '78 CJ-5 with a T-18. I didn't know anything about Jeeps at the time and so I had a tough time keeping it working. A year later I bought an '81 CJ-7 and sold the CJ-5. The CJ-7 saw a lot of modifications, but years of hard wheeling caught up with it. It was retired this year with many frame cracks and lots of body damage.

I was lucky enough to marry Diane in 1997 after several years of dating. She has a Wrangler and a '59 Studebaker Lark VI that she drives. She also plays a lot of soccer which explains the Westham "Hammers" jersey she is wearing in the picture to the right. We play indoor soccer together at least once a week.

Once in a while Diane and I like to do some bicycle touring. We have crossed the United States twice on our bicycles, once from Virginia to Oregon and another time from California to Florida. We rode unsupported, camping almost every night, using the Adventure Cycling bicycle maps. We are life members of Adventure Cycling.

When I'm not doing web development or wrenching on a Jeep, I do UNIX/C++ development on various telephony applications. I've worked with several large telecommunications companies, namely AT&T, MCI, and British Telecom. Right now, I'm working for a small company called Oresis developing the MGCP portion of a VOIP softswitch. I have a M.S. in Computer Science from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
