Gettin' a little wet on the Ramsey Trail, Northern Califorina.

Growing up in High School, I was always asking my Dad if I could borrow his Chevy Blazer. Every chance I could get, I'd take his rig out and try to find some cool trails to go wheel'n on. I'd pick up my friends and off we'd go... Often times we'd find some nice trails along the coast near my home town of San Luis Obispo and other times we'd go off into the hills to find some dirt. I never could figure out how my Dad knew I'd been off-roading his Blazer - could it have been all the brush stuck underneath? Nope, I would make sure that all remnants were disposed of. Then one day he gave the clue away, his tool box in the back of the Blazer was on the other side of the truck!

Since those early days of 4wheel'n, I'd gotten the bug and dreamed someday of owning a Jeep and doing the famous Rubicon Trail. Previous vehicles included an '87 Isuzu Trooper and a '90 Bronco. I sold the Bronco before I moved to Australia in 1995 and upon my return in 1997, my wife and I bought a '91 Nissan Pathfinder. We'd been looking for another vehicle for a couple of months when one day, out of the blue, my wife said "Why don't you buy a Jeep"?. Well that was all I needed and within 2 weeks I had purchased a stock, 1991 Wrangler. Little did my wife know how this Jeep would transform my lifestyle!

On the Rubicon Trail

After adding such necessities as a lift kit, larger tires, on-board air, and other essentials, my Jeep ownership dreams had finally come true. I finally had the resources and equipment to tackle the famous trails of the Sierra Nevada!

As for doing web page stuff, this is one part of being involved with the off-road scene that I enjoy a great deal.  I've "worked" for a previous on-line magazine for a couple of years prior to joining the outstanding people here at ORN. My main focus here is as an Associate Editor in the 4x4 Trails Section and as a Staff writer for the Jeepwire section.  Stop by and have a look at these pages.

Thanks for stopping by and please check out my personal page Rockdogz Jeep World.

Hey, It's a Jeep Thing, You Wouldn't Understand....
