Lakeside, CA (Sept 24, 2010) - During its Annual Board of Directors and Membership meeting held in Bloomington, Minnesota, new candidates were elected to the BlueRibbon Coalition Board of Directors.  The new Board members, John Stewart from Lakeside, California; Kay Lloyd from Cle Elum, Washington; Doyle Vaughan from Jackson, Wyoming; Randy Harden from Sheboygan, Wisconsin; and Vince Farace, from Eden Prairie, Minnesota will take their seats on January 1, 2011.

Greg Mumm, Executive Director of BlueRibbon Coalition stated, “I am excited about the talents and experience the new members bring to the Board as BRC continues its transition to the future.”

Newly elected Board Member John Stewart, Editor of 4x4Wire.com website and Natural Resources Consultant for California Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs stated, “This is an exciting time to join the Board of BRC.”

Stewart, a nationally noted access advocate, further stated, “I believe and advocate that the best policies and management decisions come through full public disclosure and maximum public involvement.”  Under this philosophy, BRC is recognized for its connection to the grassroots of motorized recreation and the ability to help shape public land policy. 

BlueRibbon Coalition is a leader in responsible recreational and access to public lands.  To achieve their goals, BRC is focused on building enthusiast involvement with organizational efforts through membership, outreach, education, and collaboration among recreationists.

Stewart stated, “I believe that the strength of individual involvement is an important element to support an active access advocacy program.  Each recreationist must be informed and educated on the issues affecting their recreation opportunities.  The success of access depends on the commitment of the whole.”

BRC is pursuing an aggressive agenda to protect recreational access and enhance resource management for recreation.
