Goodyear Extreme Rock Crawling Championships
There was more than a bit of controversy on the final rankings, but once again, the American Rock Crawler Association (ARCA) delivered a killer event, packed with the rock crawling drivers, spotters, and vehicles on challenging and changing Ute Indian-owned terrain, just outside of Vernal, Utah. On July 22-23, 2000, Vernal hosted the fourth ARCA championship in front of more than eight thousand spectators.

ARCA worked with the local clubs to brew up fourteen hard core obstacles, with crevices, shelves, walls, all sprinkled with massive boulders. This course tested every competitor, and some form of damage marked them all by the end of the weekend. Rollovers and flops marked each day, and the loose sandstone rewarded the drivers who could balance wheelspeed, truck momentum, and traction.
