ARCA Rules
(from the ARCA 1999 Program)

- As with all ARCA events, no alcohol/drug consumption will be tolerated during the competition. Any driver/spotter found to be in possession of drugs or alcohol will be disqualified at ARCA agent's discretion.
- All vehicles will pass a technical inspection before being allowed to compete.
- Inspection stickers will be displayed on the vehicle throughout the event as well as competitor identification for both driver and spotter. If replacement tags are required during the event, the original tag must be returned to an ARCA official.
- No one will be allowed to compete unless all fees are paid, sign up is complete, and all waivers are signed and returned to "check in." Drivers must be insured.
- Any activity that is disrespectful to the hosting community (i.e. fighting, drunkenness, lewdness, etc.) may result in disqualification.
- Driver and spotter's attendance is required at all drivers' meetings.
- Teams are required to follow the directions of each event as posted in the itinerary and given at the driver's meeting.
- Driver changes are not allowed during an event. The signed up driver is the only allowed driver of a vehicle. The point standings follow the driver, not the vehicle.
- Drivers and spotters are allowed to watch the event in progress. In order to make observing privileges as fair as possible, only the team in starting position #1 has the option of walking each section prior to entering the starting gate. The rest of the teams may observe from the spectator area only. As near the middle of the daily sections as possible, position #1 will trade with position #3. At that point, the new position 3 will only be allowed to view the section from the spectator area.
- Only the driver and spotter are allowed to work on their vehicle in a section, unless the spotter or driver requests help from the Judges. If help is requested, the team is then "timed out." Teams can work on their vehicle on the course until timed out or repaired. If timed out, the vehicle must be removed from the section (towed, driven, winched) to a place that will not interfere with any section or approach to any section. The team then has 45 minutes of CUMULATIVE breakdown time to repair the vehicle. Teams may use whoever/whatever they deem necessary to accomplish the repair. See "Judging section for further details.
- Challenges.
- If there is a scoring challenge by a team, the challenge must be made:
- Within one hour after the preliminary scores are posted.
AND
- To an ARCA Marshall. The challenge will then be resolved prior to posting the Final Scores. If a resolution is not possible prior to posting the day's scores, the issue will be resolved prior to posting the Event Scores.
- If there is a vehicle compliance challenge by a team, the challenge must be made in writing prior to the close of the 1st day of the event. If the challenge proves true, the ARCA will take appropriate action. (Additional points, disqualification, etc.) If the challenge is not accurate, the challenging team will be assessed 15 points for the event that the challenge took place in. Any cost to prove or defend the challenge is the responsibility of the challenger. Once proven accurate, the cost may be transferred to the challenged team.
