I'm about halfway through the first tank.. I've been making it a point
to drive her instead of the other car though. I'll probably tank up
again today or tomorrow and then start toying with the mixture (no pun
intended). :)

I get about a 10% mileage boost (from 21 mpg to 23 mpg) by burning 89
octane (Shell gas; 30/70 city/highway; 1985 Toyota 4X4 PU).

How about that Turbo Charger thing that you put into your air filter housing
that makes your air intake a tornado? Can't remember the name, but I know
they sold it on TV and also have it listed on GasBuddy.com. Sounds good to
me, but at $70 and $2.00 a gallon for propane this winter, I'm putting my
purchase on hold, for the time being! Good luck! Another tip: Every six
months I adjust the timing on my 93 Toyota Pick-up. I do it myself, whether
or not I am changing plugs, wires, etc. I'm getting about 21 mpg average on
combined city/highway driving. City driving is on dirt roads and hwy is on
the hwy. Do more hwy than dirt roads, though. I got the 4 cylc 22re
engine, also.

Don't waste your money on those turbo gadgets. Popular Mechanics bought
and tested several of them and they all either made the mileage and
power worse or had no effect at all. The article is in the September
edition.
