RE: TOY: Rough Idle on 22RE

the guys who did ur valve adjustment ,did it wrong, they probily put the
valves real tight so that they dont have any clatter, the settings for ur
22r is .008 on the intake valves and .012 on the exhaust valves ,but when
you adjust them to these specs it is gonna have some valve clatter,i did
mine at .006 and .010 and it was perfect ,but before i got to that i did the
same thing it sounds like they did was i put it at .005 and .009 and that
was way to tight and it made my truck run rough, but it did have good
power, but i changed it back and it runs perfect now with just a little valve
clatter, remember a little valve clatter is not bad and ur toyota is not
runing right unless you hear a little valve clatter.lol

The strange thing with this situation is the truck ran
fine for a while at idle when we were listening to the
exhaust run at the dealership. It seemed to just go
down hill after I drove it home and got worse and
worse. I had to idle it up just to keep it running at
one point. I hope they can correct the problem today.
