I just picked a up a wrecked 91' 4x4 4runner(surf) for
my latest project truck. It has some damage to the
front due to the driver hitting a road sign. The
truck runs but it needs a lot of TLC to get her road
and trail ready. I live in Ga and one of the things I
need to address seeing how it's hot as a boiler house
here is get the windows working. The back glass
surprisingly works! The side windows front and rear
doors do not though. When you let them down it makes
a buzzing noise? I have access to about 4 other
trucks identical to this for parts! Where should I
start to get these windows going up and down?

I would start by pulling the door panel and check that the window channel
and gears are clear and free of junk and trash. I would not take the chance
of playing with them much until looking to see if they even have a chance of
working.

The noise is coming from under the dash. It's not in
the doors? This is only from the main control deck on
the driver side door. It's important that I have this
operational due to the fact I seldom have people with
me. Guess that will change with the added back seat.
