TOY: New 22RE

Here I am again. I just want to say thanks for all the help so far! I've
fixed some unknown problems before they became severe. But, unfortunately,
I still have not fixed the big problem. When I put it in gear and try to
accelerate it feels like the E-brake is on (I've checked the brakes... their
fine). I went to my friendly neighborhood Autozone and the guys down there
all said, "Fuel system". Soooo... I bought some BG44k fuel injector cleaner
(although my injectors look fine). It's not the cat (I took it off and
drove around without it) and it's not the EGR. So that only leaves fuel
system, right? Any ideas?

Thanks,
Bobby

I don't know, but I have a comment about FI cleaner. I made this comment
here once and was told that some other manufacturer, not Toyota, said not to
use any kind of FI cleaner. Why? Who knows. Anyway, here's my comment. I
use Marvel's Mystery Oil (sorry, folks, I'm a senior citizen and what works
for me, I stay with), as a FI cleaner in my 93 Truck 22-RE, and my engine is
just fine. I am the original owner, it has over 110K on it, and it sounds
just like the day I bought it. Anyway, when I change my engine oil (I do it
myself), I always put in the 4 quarts of oil, and then top off with Marvels.
As I said, I've never had any problems. But, I will say this. I've had fun
driving and working on this truck, but I've also found out that it is as
tempermental as my old Aunt Millie. Two years ago, I thought my
starter/alternator/charging system was flat on its back, only to have my
baby brother (who's older than your Uncle LeRoy) tell me to take off my
battery cable clamps and to scrape off and clean not only the clamps, but
the ends of my battery cables that went into them...duh? Well, folks, it
worked like a charm, and now, I have a "clean your clamps/cables" notes on
my twice a year maintenance list. As much as I love my Toyota, I know that
there are many more little did-bits like that that irk my mire, but keep me
on the road buggin the hell out of my relatives. So, the obvious may not be
as obvious as it may sound, and you could actually have something as
ridiculously wrong with your truck as something simple, the need to clean
something. So, thanks for letting me share my piece of mind, good luck with
your problem (you guys have given me some great tips, too, just by my being
here to read all your comments), keep your powder dry, and watch out for the
other guy! Remember, 55 is just a chronological number! HaHa!
