I honestly think the comment was simply made by someone "trolling for a
flame war" for fun btw. A game bored people seem to play.

Greetings all
I seldom make comments on this site, but it has an hopefully will
continue to provide me with something interesting to read.
On the subject of saving by keeping old toys alive.
I've owned 4 Toyota's and put well over 600,000 miles total on them.
I do all my own repairs. (other than machine shop work)
The latest is my old 1980 4x4, I've no idea how many miles is on it. Over
100,000 when I bought it 12 years ago.
Just rebuilt the old 22r this year, it spun a bearing.
I think the 22r is the best all around engine I've seen. The machine
shop that does my engine work shares my opinion.
The old truck Simple, usually inexpensive to fix and very tough.
Had a 1999 tacoma for a while. Very Nice, but not as much a TRUCK
as the 1980, and those BIG payments now go to my retirement and
other investments instead of a vehicle that depreciates.
I'm not young anymore, nor am I in the poor house, and spending
wisely may have a lot to do with it.
People, get out your calculators and figure all that interest! Ouch!
Besides I take great pride in keeping it on the road. People respect that.
I get lots of good comments.
After all anybody can drive a "new" truck.
