The temperature may have been fine initially, as your guage showed. What
was happening was your cooling system was being pressurized by your
engine, forcing coolant out. Your temperature rose only after too much
coolant was lost.

Let it go.. put it in right side up and clean and forget about it...
But call the place that did it and get a free oil change out of it.

I agree with this. It's pretty much what the dealer told me and I saw the
area on the head gaskets where the leak occurred.

Good question but I don't recall anybody else mentioning a head gasket
problem at these (low) miles.
    Anybody else have this experience?

But, I thought that kind of thing was to be expected at around 100k???
Wws'nt it the V6's that were failing at sigificantly below 100k that
were the problem...

Hey all. Anyone have a recommendation (brand and place to buy) for the best
discs and pads for a 2000 Tacoma 4x4? Time to replace pads again and with
100K I should probably do the disks as well. Thanks in advance!

Replace rotors when they reach the minimum allowable thickness spec.
and this should be measured using a micrometer.

You can get 29% off genuine Toyota pads, rotors and other parts
at Bob Bridge Toyota, Renton, Washington 1-888-271-3948

You pay no sales tax so this offsets most of
the 10% UPS Ground shipping charge.
