TOY: Tacoma Alloy wheels on a 94 pickup
Hi guys,
Well Im new to the list here. I recently bought a
red 94 4x4 extended cab. I see sets of 15 & 16 inch
alloy wheels are readily available from people
swapping in larger wheels & tires on newer Tacomas.
These seem to have the same 6 on 5.5 lug nut pattern
as my pickup. Will they work? Thanks.
-Garth

Yes, indeed they should work. I have a 92' 4x4 truck
like yours and anything with the 6 lug pattern will
interchange. Cheverolet and GMC also sport a matching
lug pattern.

Should fit, they share a bolt pattern. AFAIK, the '94 came with 15's so
brake clearance should not be a problem. If your truck is lifted, be
sure to measure the backspacing, as many of the IFS lifts require a
wheel with less backspacing than stock (3.75 inch for my trailmaster)
(also something to consider if you're spending any $$ for the wheels and
intend to lift the truck in the future)
Keep in mind that tires tend to be more expensive (relatively speaking)
for 16's as compared to 15's.

They should work, but check to make sure the backspacing is enough and that
the center hole is big enough. The spots to watch are the tie rod ends in
the front if your year model has them and the leaf springs in the back. I
learned the hard way. I bought a set of Chevy z71 alloys for my 84 toy and
they would not fit. They would not even go on because the center hole was
too small and even if they had they would have rubbed everywhere mentioned
above.

YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG WITH THE TRD SUPERCHARGER. I LOVE THE ONE I
HAVE. IT WILL COST AROUND $3000, BUT I THINK IT'S WELL WORTH IT.
