I have run 31x1050R15 BFG All Terrains on 15x7 wheels
with 3.5" backspacing on an IFS truck and 4Runner and
they worked fine.
I currently am running 33x1050R15 BFG All Terrains on
the same wheels with NO LIFT on my IFS 4Runner. Again,
the wheels work fine. The 33x1050's do rub a little on
compression when turning. I previously had 33x950's
and hammered the fender seam flat to fit them with no
rubbing. I imagine that a little more hammer work will
allows the 33x1050's to totall clear, but I haven't
gotten around to it and will be doing an SAS anyway in
a couple months. But my point is, contrary to popular
belief, you do not need a lift to run 33's on an IFS
vehicle as long as the tire is narrow (12.5" would
probably be too wide). Less backspacing helps too
(tires swing through a narrower arc when turning).
I personally would stick with the 7" wheel unless I
was going with a wider tire.

Thanks for the great info and sharing a little about
your truck set up.
I ordered a set of U.S. Wheels 15x7 w/ 3.75" backspace
from Summit Racing and will be mounting a new set of
31x10.5 Interco Trxus M/T's on them when they get
here. I may go taller after I re-gear the front and
rear ends and install 4.70:1 Marlin crawler transfer
case gears.
Thanks again for the help,
Jim in Vermont
