TOY: Best undercoating
I am restoring an 85' 4x4 and want to undercoat the bed. Any suggestions as
to the best brand/type of undercoating to use and how many spray cans it takes
to cover the underside of a 7 foot bed? I have come across rubberized
undercoating made by 3M for $4.00 a can and TriStar for $7.00 a can.

The best is rihno lining. If you want to go with a
spray can I sujest that the 3m type and double coat.
It will still cost less than tristar.

Henry Plastic Roof Cement from Home Depot. Extremely
cheap and will never crack. Also provides excellent sound and
vibration deadening. It's so cheap and widely available,
no automotive authority will ever recommend it (they
only recommend specialty materials they can make a profit on).

Thanks for everyone's help on this one. Turned out to be basically
simple maintenance. D'oh!
Replaced the cap and rotor and yep, they definitely needed changing.
Really should have checked them before posting but hadn't expected them to
be in _that_ rough of shape already. Wow!
The engine still wasn't quite right though it was already _way_ better.
Tossed in a new Bosch o2 sensor and voila, truck is running better than it
ever has.
