Hi Pete,
Have you tried simply removing the nut that holds the wiper arm in place,
then rotating the arm upward a few degrees and replacing the nut?
This would certainly be what comes to my mind as a first try.

Have you tried removing the arm, letting the wiper
park, and then replacing the arm in the correct park
position? - could be the simplest solution.

I thought about that.  It would fix the wiper position, but it wouldn't
fix the part inside that contacts the switch (the one that allows the
rear window to work).
