TOY: Problem with 4Runner rear wiper (different problem?)
I have a problem with the rear wiper on my '88 4Runner and I don't think
it's the typical problem.
The problem is that it won't park properly, it goes through the motion
of parking and moves further up the window that it normally is while
wiping, however it's still about an inch away from the dock.
It's so far away that I can't even push it into place. I think the
linkage between the motor and the wiper arm is the wrong length
(previous owner may have replaced it) one of the plastic sockets is
broken and the linkage won't stay on. I don't think that's the problem
though because if it was just the broken socket then I would be able to
push it into place, but the only way I can get it onto the dock is to
remove the linkage.
Does anyone know if there were different length linkages? I don't want
to go buy a new one and find out it still doesn't work.
Thanks, Pete.
