Definitely check your timing. When your timing is set at BTD or Retarded it
will cause the exhaust manifold to glow red hot  .

Well my truck has no cat at the moment so that rules that out.. my valves
are still not set up properly so Im sure that is affecting my timing ... I
hope to hit it with a timing light this weekend and have someone have a look
at the valve train for me.. I also was told to test the EGR system...
anything else I should check out that anyone can think of?.
