I have an 81 truck and for a long time now if you shut off the wipers in
the middle of travel they wont return to their fully down position.
Close but not completely. So where's the adjustment for this? I have
the toyota manual and it doesn't mention any adjustment. On the side of
the motor there is a screw and a lock nut. I tried adjusting that but
it doesn't seem to make any difference.

take the wiper blades off and replace in the closed position, replace nuts
and you are ready to go.

The problem with that Idea is that the wipers will then go off the
windshield at the bottom of their stroke.
