It was 3 1/2 years ago at 175000 miles... I milkshaked the motor (timing
chain into the timing cover = oil and water makes milkshake in the
crankcase). Not pretty. That was 50,000 miles (!) ago and still running
strong! Yes, I have 225,000 + miles on my 4Runner... driven daily. And
wheeled frequently.

Marc, just curious - how many miles did you have on your rig when you did
the rebuild?
I also have an 85 and I was at about 150k when a rod bearing went out.
