TOY: Transmission/TCase Compatibiity

Just one question: I have an '84 Extracab 4WD. I know an '85 transmission
is compatible, because it already has one on it (it was swapped out at about
2 years old). My question is, is an '85 regular cab transmission/tcase
going to be compatible with my '84 Extracab. If so, where do they make up
the extra length? In the driveshafts?

Thanks,

Pat

Will a Doug Thorley header on an '85 22RE fit an ''84 22r (Carbed)? Will
the header make a great performance difference. How is the Thorey model
compared to the other brands available?

Hi Pat,
I remember reading about this in the past, yes the drive shafts are longer
with the X-tra cab Toyota pickups. (someone verify this)

Are you thinking of right past Camp Rock? That could
work, however there is often other people camping
there. How about further up Phillips, right before you
get into the rocky section? Here is a link to a map:
http://67.122.16.97/carterman/pics/calico1_large.gif
Ths spot I am thinking of is right after you climb the
section of washed-out pavement. There ususally isn't
anyone up there and there is a good amount of room.
But anyway, it is just an idea.

I'll post information about this trip on the BBS and
see if anyone is interested.

Mike

Yes, the first wide spot on the right after Camp Rock. This time of
year I wouldn't expect too many people out there, but I could be
surprised.

Your spot would work too. My recollection of it is that tent camping
wouldn't be much fun there because of the rocks, but I've never
actually camped there so rocks may not be an issue.

I used to have GPS coords for both places, I'll see if I can dig them
up.
