Does anybody know the official backspacing on the 7x16JJ aluminum wheels. I
have measured about 3.75". Does this sound about right? I currently have
285/75R16 tires on these 7x16JJ aluminum wheels, and the tires are rubbing
on the upper control arm and the frame at full turn. I'm looking into
purchasing a set of 17" x 8" American Eagle Wheel Series 589 aluminum wheels
(backspacing 4.5") with BFG MT 35x12.5x17 tires.
However, it seems that with a higher number in the backspacing 4.5" as
compared to the 3.75" I currently have, the larger tires would not fit.
Anybody have better info on this issue?
Steve

I checked my dealer for the resistor for an '84 and the price was like $28.
Kinda high for this ol' boy.
