TOY: RE: Re: RE: Toyota 4Runner 3.0L V6 to Chevy V6 & CA Smog?
That engine wasn't available in trucks, only V-6's. That rule is AFAIW,
only enforced in California. I don't think that other states are doing
inspections/certifications on engine swaps.
The Heep's doing fine. It's perfect for driving on the street. The HiLux
will be getting some work now and regain it's new role as the "official"
Bob's wheeling vehicle. The goal is of course to have the HiLux out perform
the Heep.

can't swap in an engine that was only available in a car.)

I always put in between 4.5 and 5 quarts. I know that's not exact, but it
should get ya to the full line.

Alright this is a little weird. I changed my oil on my 1993 Pickup (3.0L
V6) and the Autozone showed 4 4/5 would be required to fill it up. I
added not quite 5 and it only brought the level up to low on the dipstick.
I added the rest of that fifth quart, and the 6th that the Toyota parts
guy told me to, and it reads full...
What's the scoop with the different fluid amounts in a 3 Liter V6? Or
better yet, why is there data out there that would suggest 4.5-5 quarts in
that motor?

That I don't know. I DID replace the oil filter with whichever Fram
Autozone specified, but it's not an Amsoil unit or anythign like that.
The oil pan is stock as far as I know. It doen't really worry me though
as the dipstick reads full with 6 quarts!

Hello, im lookin at buying a 92 toy with 22re. the transfer case
shifter wont stay put in low range, you have to hold it. how hard
is this to fix? what fixes it?
also when testing the 4x4, when in 4wd the back tires will spin
some with the front tires not spinning any, but i know the front
wheels are pulling because in 2wd the rear would spin crazy, this
is on pinestraw. is this normal? as far as i know it has stock
gears in it. thanks for any ideas, thanks!

I've got a 91 pu toyota factory manual, Its three books: chassis, engine and
electrical wiring diagrams. I got it off of ebay but then found a 94 manual
to match my truck. I don't think there are too many differences over those
years. I've been meaning to put it on ebay. I'll sell it to ya if you need
it. Best offer. Let me know! reach me at sshelle99@yahoo.com or

Guys, I still need help on that speedo for my 95 vortec swap. If anyone can
help, please let me know!!!
Thanks,
Scott Shelley
