  My truck has speakers in the door.  It's an '86.  They are mounted low
and close to the front... like where speakers are usually mounted from the
factory when they come in the doors.  It looks like they chopped the metal
in the area until they had a big enough of a hole to fit them.  Other than
the crappy install job that was done, no problems with their location.
