TOY: The Rear Disk Quest - Cont...
Thanks to all on the list for the info...
It seems that the OEMs (who have $$$ Liability issues
to deal with) choose to go "mini drum" for the parking
brake.
Thom (and possibly others) noted that the Ford
SuperDuty used this configuration. I doubt that the
parts would be easily adaptable to a Toy Mini Rear
axle/FF hub combo.
Karl (and others) noted that the FZJ80 offered this.
This seems to be an easier (but likely more $$$ route)
for this conversion.
Please refresh my memory...
- Avail in the USA?
- only on ones with elec locker?
Im asking becuase the next step is to potentially look
at a FZJ80 shop manual to see how its put together.
Im wondering how the brake cable is configured and how
much of a pain that might be to route.
Im thinking this route as the Sequoia rear disk/drum
most likely would need to be modified to deal with the
full floater hub whereas the FZJ80 already has a full
floater...
Come to think of it - doesnt Karl have one of these
magical axles?

(Avoiding the old thread on pasting two short side
axle stubs to make a mini truck FF out of an FZJ80 axle)
