Same here. My '64 engine passes Colorado just fine in my '84 truck. Yes,
they were able to tell the date of the engine by the numbers and they did
look. All I had to do was retrofit emissions equipment applicable to '84 1/2
ton truck and I was fine. Ever try to find an EGR valve for a 283? They
never existed so I made a 305 valve work.
