Thanks for all the replies, y'all.

Most of the info you gave me, I already know but my original question has still
gone unanswered; who here (from CA) on this List has ACTUALLY done a swap? I
know it can be done, I know the legal technicalities of it, etc. but I'd still
like to know of someone who has actually done it and if the emissions people
give him a lot of grief over it when he got it smogged, how much trouble he had
to go through with inspections, etc.
