i change mine every 2-3000 no matter what. i have worked on many 1-3 year 
old veh. w/ less than 30000 miles that never had the oil changed and the 
sludge build up is unbeleivable, all the way up to the top of the inside of 
the valve cover, like 2" thick. this on camrys and avalons, mostly lease 
vehicles. they figure they wont do any maint. cuz they wont own it in 3 
years. i have a couple pictures of these engines in my computer, i just 
don't know how to post them here or i would just to make a point
