Re: TOY: (lock-rite vs. EZ locker)

If my friend was right about the Lockright and EZ Locker being the same,
then you could also say that the EZ Lockers are overrated, too.
Since neither of these 2 lockers replace the stock carrier, then if you
drive like a moron, then you'll grenade the carrier on the street. That's
not to say you can't drive it hard (my buddy had the Lockright between 35's
for 3+ years without problems, and drove it real hard), but if you're more
prone to driving like a moron, may as well get the stronger units in the
first place. As far as a big block, 14 bolt with 38's, sure you can do
it...if you drive very conservative-like. I don't know of anybody who would
drive conservatively with a big block, 14 bolt, & 38's:) I wouldn't! I've
learned not to trust sales reps. They just want you to think they know what
they're doing, or buy a more expensive item. That is, unless the company's
reputation and sales experience is highly respected.
Well, I could go on and on...but I'm not going to.

  Oh, Yeah...Dee Smith,
I figured you would respond to the "heep 4 sale" subject, you
know, to pop up a little advertisement for the Runner:) And, yes, that is
what I was refering to.

In my experience the lock-rite's are highly overrated. A sales rep. once
told my friend that he could run one is his 14 bolt with 38's and a big
block. Another frind of mine destroyed one with 30" tires and a stock 4
cylinder after only 2 months and 5-6 wheeling trips. I have had my
ez-locker
in my truck with 31's for close to 3 years and it is still performing
perfectly.
