Any of you guys have any toyotas setup for a prerunner style? I know most prerunner guys pull the front stuff outta the 4wd cars and convert to 2wd to get the front travel, but i just bought a project truck -- a 87 2wd truck with a straight frame and bad motor.
What i am curious about is what kind of setups you guys really go with: wheelbase, shocks, trailing arm rear using coilovers, motor choices (22r/20rhybrid/v6...) front suspension stuff (ive checked out the ChaosFab stuff, looks like a really well executed design).
The truck we got was the longbed with a 112" wheelbase vs. the 109" wheelbase. We want to go to a coilover rear, so i will cut the bed/fenders/leaf springs out and fab something up; the current state is irrelevant. Just trying to get an idea of what i should be looking for.
I have extensive fabrication experience working on both modifieds (particularly troyer based chassis) and drag cars (i work at a fabrication shop), so I am not afraid to machine/fabricate/weld. Thanks in advance for your help. Im in Tempe AZ if you guys know of any good shops out here too...
