Re: TOY: Temp help part 2
Perhaps I didn't make it clear.
Toyota designed the dual-stage thermostat to help fix problems that THEY
recognized on the 22R motor. Not all 22R motors seem to exhibit this
problem. The dual-stage thermostat was first put to use in the Celica
using the 22RE engine, after complaints of temperature-overshoot.
Just to confirm. It was Toyota who designed the dual-stage thermostat
for a Toyota engine. I bought the Toyota dual-stage thermostat from a
Toyota dealer to help with the temperature overshoot I was having with
my 22RE. I installed the dual-stage thermostat several years ago and the
problem never came back.
Your analogy isn't correct.
