TOY: diff gear oil

I got a new muffler a while back, and it runs straight from the cat, no
bends, and I had a turn down right in front of the rear axle. On one of my
recent wheelin encounters, I fully flexed the suspension and unknowingly
ripped the turn down off. So now the exhaust is aimed straght at the side
off the diff again.
I noticed this when I crawled under today to check out the best way to add
diff breathers. As a result, the gear oil expanded (boiled?) and shot out
the breather, and all over the underside of the bed. So now, my question is
this: How urgent is it to fix this and replace the gear oil, and (Assuming
it's pretty urgent and neccesary) what is the *best* gear oil to use.
  TIA
Brandon

Before you go, check out the awesome dual shackle setup pic at the bottom.

For anybody that doesn't have anything better to do, here's what I've been
working on recently.
Obviously, new exhaust. I was running straight headers for a while,
enjoying the beefy rumble, but it started givin me headaches. I opted for a
slightly quieter tone, but not stock, and deffinately not expensive (good
ol' college budget:-) ). The CherryBomb glass pack meet the deed quite
well. I welded it up in the shed and bolted it up the next day.

I tried popping out the massive mangled mess of metal that was my fender,
door and so on to the bed (my only trophy received for wheelin harder than
my friends in Gorman), but with minimal success. I touched up the areas
where the paint had chipped away, and left the rest of the damage reside.

I have a Conferr roofrack mounted to my shell that fell victim to the
cancerous demons of rust long ago. It was removed yesterday for an
overhaul. After hours of wire brushing with the drill, I realized that I
was merley removing paint, not rust. So I picked up a small portable sand
blaster on sale from work (HFT). Now I need to get ahold of some abrasive
and clean up that mess. It will then be painted, and new hardware will
accompany the reinstallation.

I think I have my mind set on the lift/tires/rims. Superlift 4-5" susp.
lift with rear springs, 33" Goodyear MT/R's on 15x10 Eagle Alloy 589's. It
will be a few more months though, because I want to install it all at the
same time, and haven't quite saved enough for it (SEE ABOVE-college budget).
I'm assuming that after a while of use and negative arching, the springs
will sag. When I feel they have *settled* I will add dual lift shackles to
level it out and increase articulation. Remember a while ago when I was
asking if anyone had ever thought of a dual shackle setup? Well, somebody
else finally did. Check it out! Thanks to 4offrd.com for the pic.

sorry about the long url, but you should be able to copy and paste if there
isn't a direct link. It's really woth lookin at. That's it for now, back
to work on the sandblasting.
