TOY: 22RE Oil Pressure...

Yeah this topic has been beat to death before, but Id
thought Id ask..

Im getting "lower" oil pressure when the oil is HOT.
That is above 180 deg F.

Usually the oil pressure is 58-60 psi when hot.

Now Im getting as low as 50psi hot when the RPMs are
down in the 2200rpm range.

Cold psi tops out at 70psi and runs about 60lbs at
2000 rpm and 20lbs at idle.

Im guessing
1 - weak/worn oil pump pressure spring
2 - worn main bearings

So - if its the main bearings - can I pull em out w/o
disturbing the crank? (i.e. "slide" em out) or do I
have top lift the crank out?

The slide em out idea has merit as I would just need
to pull the front axle and drop the pan.

To do it right - well Id have to pull the engine.

If that were teh case, I rebuild the beater block I
have (unless that is an older short deck block).
