TOY: Re: Screwed up Big time...
A guess, voltage regulator? if the gauges are pegged, this sounds
reasonable.

headlights/tail/wiper/blinkers/heater horn. The toyota engine is running off
of the efi wiring harness from the engine/fuelpump/alternator/sr5 gauge
cluster. Here is my problem.... My buddy who will is a little unmechanicly
inclined was helping me out on the sami, well everything was going good and
we where closing shop up. My battery was dead so I had him hook cables up
from a spare battery to mine. Bad mistake... He ended up hooking the pos/neg
on the spare, reversed to my battery, needless to say sparks flew for about
5 seconds before he unhooked them. Needless to say I was pretty pissed. I
started it up and my check engine is on, also the brake charge is on. (brand
new alternator before this) also the wipers go on with the key (sami
system). Volts on the sr5 gauge are pegged above 18. What the hell got
fried? I tried a diff battery with no change. All fuses are good. I
unplugged the alternator and ran it without t!

wire from the alt still connected. No change.. Any idea what got fried?
