TOY: Supra Update...

Just a few comments...

I am no longer mounting the MKIV intercooler straight up and down in
front of the passenger tire. It was too close to the tire for my liking.
I can just imagine ripping it out when the tire is fully stuffed.
Instead, I am mounting the intercooler higher but it will be slanted
backwards. I will build a cold air box to keep the IC separate from the
engine compartment and to route air into it. The air will exit right
above the tire.

The other thing I have decided on is the radiator. I was going to get a
custom 1 core aluminum radiator from Griffin. But, I haven't heard
anything from Griffin since I sent them the design. I was then going for
a Howe Chevy or a BeCool Chevy Universal. The reason I need a chevy
version is because the inlet and the outlet are in the right place for
the Supra motor. Both are theses are all-aluminum tig welded radiators.
They cool alot better than the brass/copper radiators. The Howe was just
the right size but used a 2.5" core with 3" end tanks. Too big. The
BeCool uses a 1 1/4" core with 2" end tanks. I decided to go with the
Be-Cool. It is model number 65001. It is only 22x18" but is designed to
handle 300hp. Plus, I should be able to run electric fans behind the
radiator now.

SPAL makes electric fans and also includes all the dimensions of them.
So, it should be easy to find one that meets my needs. I won't know what
I need until the radiator is mounted.
