TOY: What did you do this weekend?
Well?
After a year of sitting in the shop, I *finally* got my re-covered 85 bucket
seats installed on my 1990 truck. For anyone interested, the outer 2 holes
lined up, and I had to drill one more very close to the stock seat belt
mounting hole in the rear. The front inner bolt hole will need to be drilled
into the angled lip.
All in all they fit great, look like stock, and sit WONDERFUL :-)
I also finally did a rear U bolt flip (I have had the parts to do it for
about a year as well)... Custom plates and 5/8" U bolts look great on there.
I didn't have time to finish up the 14" travel rear shocks, as I ran into a
faw complications. Due to my exhaust routing, I can't angle them inwards
like most do, so I am going to have to angle them backwards as far as
possible on custom mounts. I hope to be done with that by Wednesday.
I also hope to have my new rear shackle hangers done as well. They are a
trick I saw on a Jeep web site somewhere - using heim joints (from Tractor
Supply) to let the rear hanger pivot. Only about $40 invested in the whole
mod, and I will report back if it actually helps any (I think it will, more
on that later).
As always, everything will be covered on my web site with pictures & info
once I am done...
All of this in preparation of a ride the 12th and another 3 day ride on
Memorial Day weekend - gotta get it ready!
So what did you do? ;-)
