TOY: Check engine light on '97 Tacoma 4wd ?

Hi Folks,

The check engine light on my '97 Taco has me stumped.
==> The engine oil is on the full mark, of the dipstick.
Clutch fluid, brake fluid, and coolant are all within normal ranges.

What gives?

This vehicle is equipped with the 2.7L (4-cylinder) gasoline engine.
Currently ADD equipped, and 5-speed manual transmission.
(does the ADD make a difference to the check engine light)?

==> The *strange* part is it runs / drives fine, however the check-engine
light comes on at start-up and does not go out.
Any hints / suggestions, (other than removing the check engine lamp).  :o )
