I am confused as usual... but if it helps I have two Tcases for my 85 EFI
and they both have the shift forks on the top.

Subject: TOY: Transfer cases - Types?
Trying to sort out transfer case options in my head....
>From what I gather, there were at least 3 tcase options (not counting
turdbo)
Carb (behind G52)
EFI - shifter in tranny (behind W56)
EFI - shifter in case (behind W56)
1. Is this correct?
2. does the carb case have the shifter in the tranny or the case?
3. what year marks a difference in the efi cases?
I really have no clue what is what. I talked with the mechanic at Allpro,
and he told me that with the setup I will be using (g52 case for reduction
unit, and efi case on rear), I can swap the cases over to a (either '89 or
'92.... I forget) or newer W56 tranny without changing anything.
I take this to mean that there are at least 2 types of W56 cases?
Anyone? Bueller?
