This is true because your current setup from what I've seen will work but
was never a factory option because of how far the transfer case shifter is
now from the dash. I assume it's almost in the middle of your seats? But
because the W-56 tranny was originally factory setup basically like yours
is now with the G-52, it will work too. But it will also move your T-case
shifter closer to the dash. ( maybe only an inch or so?) An EFI T-case will
bolt up to ANY 4 cyl transmission and will work fine because the shifter is
on top of the case. A carb'd or turbo t-case will not bolt up to the W-56
because then the shift forks ould hit the back of the tranny and there
would be no place to bolt up the t-case shifter.
So G-52 = carb tranny = t-case with shift forks sticking out of the front
AND 21 spline
And W-56 = EFI tranny = t-case with shift forks inside of the transfer case
AND 21 spline
And R151F = turbo tranny = t-case with shift forks sticking out of the
front AND 23 spline.
