TOY: Wheel Backspacing

>BTW, it's an 87 4 runner

The IFS era Toyotas had an OEM backspacing of almost
4.75".
This spacing is sorta impossible to find on an
aftermarket rim, so most people get the 4.5"
backspaced rims.

The commony "Chevy" rim has a 3.5 backspacing.
On a wider rim - this makes em "stick out" alot.

I run the "tall narow" tires on a 6" rim with the 3.5"
Chevy backspacing (its a 235/85R16 Nokia Hakka 10).
(its close in height/width to a 33x9.5 tyre).
Yeah - in theory it sticks out, but since the rim is
narrow - it acually does not stick out any more than
my summer tires (31x10.5 BGF AT on a 15x7 rim with
4.5" backspacing).

Ewong

BTW I recently swithced the Nokia Hakkas for my BFGs.
Man - the sidewalls on the BFGs are *soft* in
comparison to the Nokia's. The Hakkas are a load range
E tyre...
