If you can lower the CG, you can make the vehicle handle better in theory.
In practice, it is just mostly for looks.
With soft grippy wide low profile tires, a low stance, a good front / back
weight distribution, and a long chassis I would think that most trucks would
start to come close to handling kinda like a big 1970's sedan. Is that an
improvement?
Of course, when the truck is "slammed" it is so low that it is pretty much
useless for handling because any body roll will make it scrape. Big heavy
frames and big solid axles will quickly negate any "good" handling
characteristics quickly.
