One suggestion is to locate a public scale and get the truck weighed, getting
a whole vehicle and then rear axle weight.  I did this on mine with my regular
wheeling gear (parts, camping gear, jack, winch) full tank of gas and me in
the truck.  This way you can give them the weight you currently have on the
rear axle (to be correct, you'd want to deduct the weight of the wheels, tires
and axle itself, but I think they allow for that, and then add the payload you
want to carry.

Depends on how much work you want to do installing them.  Longer is better,
though.
