TOY: New Engine Update
First I have a question: Does anyone have an aftermarket oil pressure
gauge? What kind is it and do you like it? Can you just install any
aftermarket one or does every car manufacturer measure pressure with
different methods?
I have installed the new engine. We didn't have any big problems. It
started with little difficulty and then shot a quart of oil out the side of
the motor immediately. There is a small plug in the block right in the
middle of the mounting holes for the engine mount... now I know. After
getting that plug from the other block, the motor was fine.
So far, we had a small water leak from the water pump that was fixed after a
couple turns with a ratchet, the oil thing, a small exhaust leak fixed the
same way as the water leak, now one of the injectors is leaking (O-Rings
were replaced)... so tomorrow we will be pulling the no. 1 injector to try
and find the hold up.
Other than that, I will hopefully be test driving it as soon as the diff is
swapped and the rear axle seal is replaced.
I have come to a realization as well... this hobby is more expensive than
computers...
Have a good one =)
