Given what I had heard about ALL of the remanufacturers out there, after
much research I decided to go with a '94 22RE with 43k original miles.
I talked to everyone I could think of on the topic, and the general
consensis is that reman engines suck! I could not find anyone that said "try
company "A", we (or I) have had great luck with them.
I am VERY happy with my $1000 "slightly used" engine, and would definately
go this route if I had it to do over again.
Don't know if this affects your decision, but at least it is another side of
the coin!
I bought mine at Woodward's - a Toyota only junkyard near Philly. They also
sold me the W56 tranny/transfer out of the same truck for $400.
Try getting those prices from TAP!
