These trucks still have the ADD system. So obviously when driving the front r&p
will still be turning.

I assume he checked the diff oil?

As far as the axle play, that does sound a bit excessive, just as it would on
the earlier trucks. I think a little play is acceptable, but 1/4" might indicate
that bearings are worn or ????? Is it on both sides, or just the short side?

Getting back to the sound, does it do it when he's stopped? Could be something
as simple as a heat shield on the underside (BTDT, got the
"vibrations")...............
